The Brazilian Dentistry Academy (AcBO) is a civil entity, philantropic, of public utility, non profitable. Founded in October 25, 1949 by Professors of the Brazil's University - known today as the Rio de Janeiro's Federal University (UFRJ) - aims to reunite Professors and Dentist Surgeons from all over the country, so that united, they can work intensilly for the constant improvement of the odonthologic teaching and, consequently, for the constant update of the technic-scientific procedures of the Brazilian Dentistry.

It's one of the five members of the Brazilian Dentistry Group. It's independent and the only Brazilian Academy to have representatives from all the states.

It's own Headquarters was opened on March 19, 1999. It's equiped with computers and other modern days requirements needed to develop it's daytime activities. It works to reach all the objectives explained in the statute - updated 2 years ago - which is it's heading compass.
